People read labels on boxes and cans to see what vitamins and minerals they are getting. If you don’t already do that, you should. You might be surprised! Sometimes it is 0% ! You will find many of the nutrients you need in fruits and vegetables, but you should focus on fresh over processed or canned. They help give the body the healthy nutrients that it needs. It is the canned versions that may have 0% of the nutrients you need. Read the label.

Balance Your Diet

If you want to make sure you get all the vitamins and minerals you need, make sure your diet is balanced and healthy. Get five to seven servings of produce each day. It is important you buy organic produce whenever possible.
Also, wash it thoroughly. Take a good supplement and be sure to get protein and good fats. Plus, buying organic all the time can be expensive. By taking a good supplement, it helps fill in the gaps.

Strong bones need calcium. You must also have a good amount of vitamin D in order to absorb calcium. Sunlight is a great form of vitamin D. These can all help in the calcium absorption process.

You can get vitamin D from milk and sun exposure. If you are not a big milk drinker or do not spend a lot of time in the sun, you should take a supplement with vitamin D. Vitamin D is important for your bones and it keeps them strong.

Red Blood


Iron is crucial to red blood cell production. Red blood cells are what carry oxygen around your body. Women need more iron than men, and often vitamin supplements that are specifically for women will have extra iron. You can ask your doctor if he thinks you are getting enough iron. You don’t want to get too much iron, though. Iron is one of those supplements where too much can be a bad thing.

Vitamins C and A

As for Vitamin C, it is very difficult to overdose on Vitamin C. Vitamin C is essential to health. The human body does not make vitamin C. Other mammals, for example, dogs, do create their own vitamin C. But humans do not so be sure to get Vitamin C every day in the foods you eat or by taking a good supplement. A buffered or time-released version of Vitamin C is a good way to ingest it.

Your body needs Vitamin A, as it makes you see better, reduces skin problems, promotes a healthy immune system, and reduces the chances of heart disease. Don’t go over the daily recommendations for dose, though. A great way to get vitamin A would be through squash, carrots, and dark leafy greens.
